‘Life is too short to have boring hair’
When it comes to optimising your hair, colour can play a huge part. From balayage to highlights, root coverage to a complete colour change, a great colour can not only lift your cut, it can also boost your confidence. There are lots of really great options when it comes to colour – let’s take a look at what all the different terms mean and what they can offer you…

Highlights
Highlights are a true classic in the world of hair colour and they can provide plenty of impact. Highlights typically involve lighter shades of colour being woven throughout your hair – this can be one single colour or multiple colours to give a natural look.
Ombre
Ombre is the seamless graduation of one colour into another, usually from light to dark or dark to light; it’s one of the most popular current colour techniques.
Root tint / all over colour
A root tint is a permanent colour that’s matched to the remaining length of your hair to lighten or darken hair, as well as to cover grey. An all over colour is where colour is added to all of your hair to make a permanent change in colour.
Lowlights
Lowlights are similar to highlights in the way in which they are created but they’re at the opposite end of the spectrum with regards to the colour. Lowlights are darker shades of colour that are woven through lighter hair. Again, this can be one darker shade or a combination of colours.
Balayage
Balayage is a technique where hair colour is painted onto the hair to create a graduated, more natural-looking highlight effect. This is the perfect choice if you want a natural look or want to avoid any obvious difference in root colour as your hair grows (as you sometimes get with highlights).
